Padre Nuestro is a tragic and painfully honest look at the Mexican underclass in the US that lives in constant fear of discovery. En route to New York to find his father, Diego, Pedro befriends petty thief Juan, telling him his story. Juan appropriates Pedro’s identity and possessions, and shows up at Diego’s restaurant calling himself the long lost son. Pedro ? alone, unable to communicate, destitute ? soon latches on to Magda, who teaches him the cold rules of survival. With Juan looking for Diego’s alleged fortune and Pedro simply looking for Diego, both young men wind up finding something they didn’t expect to. The film, however, is ultimately a moral thriller about the search for family. Starring Mexican legend Jesus Ochoa (Bajo California: El limite del tiempo) as Diego.
