Jiraiya is the protagonist of the Edo adaption from a Ming-China novel about thief. He is a Robin Hood and can transform himself into a snake or a frog. The special effects in the film was one of the reasons that it had such popularity and was followed by many sequels. One of Makino Shozo and Matsunosuke’s collaborated works.
