All these characters casually connect and influence each other on a single train journey from Central Europe to Rome in a story of sacrifice, love and chance. Three of the world′s best, yet stylistic and thematically autonomous, filmmakers, Abbas Kiarostami, Ken Loach, and Ermanno Olmi somehow maintain a unity of subject and independence of style that is amazing to see.
