The identity of Thai films is difficult to define in just one word, and after watching a film like My Space, one realizes how true that really is. My Space is about young people who are clueless about what to do in the confusion of love even when they think they have finally found their goal in life by falling into an ideal kind of love. By depicting young people′s feelings from outside the genre traditions, the film approaches the subject in a new and fresh way. The rite of passage through love is a universal subject but the film doesn′t limit itself to the traditional narrative framework and liberally presents the process of coming in contact with the confusion, the search, and other people which the characters go through. The characters in the film learn from mistakes of how to come face to face with their own feelings. Eventually, they′ll pass one phase in life and go on to another phase. (Kim Young-jin)
