Dreaming Light about the lives people who make eyeglass lenses and how they secretly realize another kind feeling life that they didn′t know about. The protagonists of the film, Ikea, Yoko, and Yojiro work together at Ikea′s eyeglass factory where everything is done manually. Ikea competent eyeglass lens manufacturer but he on the verge of bankruptcy. chance, he meets Yoko, whose father also once worked at the eyeglass factory. She was about commit suicide by jumping off bridge. Yoko secretly love with Yojiro. However, Yojiro isn′t aware her feelings since he′s busy working hard overcome bankruptcy by helping Ikea while working for him. Dreaming of Light delves deep into small-scaled story and just like the title shows people who find light their lives. By adopting microscopic style that tries capture every particle the air the world and by not dramatically exaggerating the emotion, the film follows closely the emotions between the characters. Director Kim Su-jin, 2nd generation Korean-Japanese, draws out an extraordinary visual impression from an ordinary drama through this second feature film. (Kim Young-jin)
