A girl′s family is disturbed with her brother′s divorce. Her brother and mother look childish and practical when confronting with the problems of raising the nephew dealing with compensation fees. Her father becomes lethargic. She wants some consolation from her boyfriend but he also makes her worry for his old girlfriend. Park Chan-ok is comparable with Hong Sang-soo, with whom she has worked as an assistant director, for the ability to create mystery without any special incidents. Warm Swamp is Park′s short film which delicately describes the movement of characters wandering between silence and impulse. When the characters move carefully in the space where violent and destructive impulse ambushes, smothering tension and unexpected beauty soak the place. (Huh Moon-yung)
