Program Note
An introvert and ordinary high school student, Soyo starts inline skating in his boring routine life. When practicing on his own at a park, Soyo discovers Mogi′s fabulous inline skating skills. Hanjoo introduces Soyo to Mogi′s inline skating team. They focus on dangerous skating but their unstable lifestyles disturb them with a dark future.
Jeong Jae-eun presented a girl′s story of growing up with the eminent description of characters and delicate usage of space in her previous film Take Care of My Cat. In her second film The Aggressives, she describes the growth story of boys fascinated with speed and danger. To these boys, inline skating is a dizzy and risky activity which helps them to avoid the responsibility of growth and gives them pleasure beyond the social time. The Aggressives is the story of boys who grow up, living in two kinds of time suffering from confusion, as well as the tale of grown-ups who dream of escaping from modern time. Both the cinematography which exquisitely pictures the speed of inline skating and the description of the various characters are excellent
