TV cameraman Armin is getting older, but his work and love are not improving. One morning, without warning, all the people in the world disappear, and the lone Armin is compelled to go to his hometown. Like a modern Robinson Crusoe, he is leading a quiet and free life, raising livestock. When another surviving woman, Kirsi, appears, they become a kind of Adam and Eve; they are attracted to each other, but their differences about life in the future do not align. The leader of Berliner Schule, director Ulrich Koehler′s new film, In My Room, presents an apocalyptic story of survival in a unique atmosphere. In a world that faces a deadlock in life, Armin seems to be building a new life with perfect freedom. Kirsi′s appearance makes him realize the importance of being with someone, but what is left to him is still his own life. Is the world of my own, like my own room, the ultimate freedom we dream of, or absolute solitude? The movie asks these questions in a witty but stark voice. (Jin Park)
