In this film about a woman on a search for her memory, Goli returns to her hometown in the northern part of Iran, Rasht, after twenty years. Farhad, who claims to be an old classmate is there to welcome her back, however, she doesn’t remember him. She doesn’t remember anything. With the help of Farhad and by meeting other people in the town she slowly begins to regain her memory. Director Safi Yazdanian depicts this time travel journey for memory beautifully in a symbolic way, as we follow the slow but genuine growth in their relationship as Farhad, a frame maker, guides Goli through the process, providing the framework and foundation she needs to put the pieces of her memory back together.
