Program Note
In a dirty, decaying slum in the Philippines, a single mother decides to give her 10-year-old son up for adoption so that he can have a better life. But an innocent journey to the market quickly turns into a devastating loss for both mother and son.

Mark V. Reyes
Mark V. Reyes is born and raised in Manila, Philippines and moved to San Francisco in 2000 to study film at the Academy of Art University. He emerged in the independent film scene with his first short film, Last Full Show (2005), Mark’s second film, God Only Knows (2008), was also screened at Tribeca, and won Best Short Film at the NY Asian American Film Festival, as well as the Audience Award at the Cinemalaya Film Festival. In 2010, Mark taught short filmmaking in the UK for York St. John University’s summer arts program Creative Chaos.
