CLYDECYNIC is a tale of dysfunctional relationships, misplaced anger and of the search for one’s place in the world. Clyde wants to be good. But he is not. Stuck in a mentally and physically abusive relationship with his father, Clyde Nelson finds an outlet for his dangerously increasing fury in Take The Power, Keep The Power, a male-led self-empowerment group that is really a ponzi scheme in hiding. As their master of hypnosis, Clyde is the cash cow of the group. However, he’s far more dangerous than anyone realizes, getting twisted gratification from having access to so many weak and needy people behind closed doors. Unexpected events will confront his own skewed sense of right and wrong and forever change the way he perceives himself. An auteur film produced independently, and most definitely a character piece, CLYDECYNIC is Ramiro Belanger’s first feature film.
