Volunteers at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) have long played a vital role in supporting the festival’s smooth operation, serving in areas such as guest guidance, event coordination, and logistical assistance. For 29 years, these volunteers have grown alongside the festival, serving as its unsung heroes and contributing significantly to BIFF’s rise as one of Asia’s leading film festivals. This year, once again, they will be an essential presence across Busan, helping power the screenings and events that bring the festival to life.
For its 30th edition, BIFF is recruiting volunteers across seven departments and 13 divisions. Applications are open to Korean nationals aged 18 or older, as well as foreign nationals with valid residence cards. The festival welcomes individuals who are passionate about cinema and committed to working responsibly. Departments accepting applications include: ▲ Management Support ▲ Public Relations ▲ Program ▲ Community BIFF ▲ Marketing & External Relations ▲ Asian Contents & Film Market ▲ Jiseok Film Institute. Activity periods and working hours vary depending on the division.
Selected volunteers will receive commemorative items, including a uniform, bag, and badge (ID card), along with an allowance covering transportation and meals. Service hours can be registered through the 1365 Volunteer Portal, and a certificate of participation will be issued upon completion of service.
All application steps, from submission to final selection, will be conducted online via the official BIFF Volunteer website. Applications must be submitted by Sunday, 29 June, and final results will be announced on Thursday, 31 July.
