And as you ride that wave of summer, guess what’s just around the corner? The Busan International Film Festival(BIFF)🎬 – ready to welcome you with a refreshing breeze of cinema.

The 30th BIFF is ready to kick off in September – marking its first early return since 1997.

Introducing the 2025 CHANEL X BIFF Asian Film Academy Faculty Members!

Once again, the 2025 CHANEL X BIFF Asian Film Academy welcomes 24 talented newcomers from across Asia. They’ll dive into short film production, workshops, mentoring sessions, and masterclasses – gaining direct insight from renowned figures of the Asian film scene. Now and then, we hear exciting news that past alumni are already showing up strong at international film festivals across the globe.


Meet this year’s amazing faculty dream team – we’re thrilled to have them on board!

KIM Jeewoon(Cine21), Mattie DO, PARK Jung-hun

At the helm is acclaimed director Kim Jeewoon, celebrated for his exceptional cinematography and mastery across a wide range of genres, who will be the Dean of the program.


Joining him is Mattie Do, Laos’ very first female feature film director, bringing her unique perspective as the Directing Mentor. Rounding out the team is Cinematography Mentor Park Jung-hun, whose creative visual style defined films like The Villainess (2017) and Voice of Silence (2020).


Get ready for this year’s truly inspiring works guided by some of the most visionary minds in cinema today!

After wrapping up our successful run with the call for audience programmers, it’s your turn to help shape the final line-up of our long-awaited program Request Cinema. 

 

Out of 87 incredible programs, 46 programs that received screening clearance have been shortlisted – and now 15 of them will make it to the big screen, based on your votes!

 

You can vote for up to 4 titles that best match your taste. Final selections will be carefully reviewed based on audience votes (70%) + expert evaluation (30%).

2025 Asian Cinema Fund’s Latest Update: Co-Production Support Fund 

This year, we are happy to introduce you to a new initiative of the Asian Cinema Fund(ACF): Co-Production Support Fund!👏


Through ACF, ACFM has long supported filmmakers at all stages of film production – from script development to documentary production and post-production.

After careful selection, one of the projects in the final stage of pre-production will receive direct funding of up to KRW 65 million (or $5000)!


Eligible projects must be feature-length films or animations for theatrical release, co-produced with Korea. Now’s your moment – the registration is open until 14 August.
