Asian Project Market 2014 Selects 30 Official Projects

The Asian Project Market (APM), the biggest investment and co-production market in Asia, finalized 30 official project selections.

As the primary co-production market in Asia, APM connects promising film projects to interested investors, and approximately 200 projects were turned into completed films since its inception. APM has been the birthplace of prominent directors such as Kim Ki-duk, Lou Ye, Jia Zhangke, Tsai Ming-liang. Previous APM projects include director Lee Chang-dong’s 2010 Cannes Film Festival Best Screenplay winner Poetry (2010), director Oh Sung-yoon’s most watched Korean animation Leafie (2011), director Bong Joonho’s big hit Snowpiercer (2013), and 2013 Venice International Film Festival Grand Jury winner director Tsai Ming-liang’s Stray Dogs (2013).

APM unveils original and creative official projects and is expected to receive significant international attention. New projects from established and new directors are on their way to Busan. A total of 30 projects from 20 countries were selected, reflecting global trend and interest in multi-national collaboration.
