Ivana, who works as an actress in Romania, goes back home to Serbia on the border with Romania when she has health problems. Her intention was to convalesce under the care of her family at home, but things happen around Ivana. The mayor of her hometown city tries to make Ivana a goodwill ambassador for the local festival here, and her friends who play music visit her hometown. Since Ivana is afraid of the rumor that she’s seeing a younger boyfriend and has yet to get the consolation she wants from her family, she stands at a crossroads in her life without dispelling fear.
Inspired by what Director Ivana MLADENOVIC went through during her visit to her real home on the Serbian-Romanian border in the summer of 2017, she wrote the scenario and actually featured herself and her family to act in the movie. As a director and actor, her problems and experiences in real-life unfold vividly, causing natural laughter. It is not a stereotypical comedy, but a real-life laugh. The Winner of the Special Jury Prize of ’Filmmakers of the Present’ at the Locarno Film Festival. (NAM Dong-chul)
