This year’s condensed World Cinema section is composed of 51 films by world-renowned auteurs. Films from all over the world deal with a wide range of topics. European works notably focus on contemporary issues including bullying and homosexuality. Prize-winning films such as Cannes’ Palme d’Or and Berlin’s Golden Bear are introduced, along with works by major authors like Andrzej Wajda, Gianni Amelio or Philippe Garrel. Films from North, Central and South America, Africa, and Oceania will greet the audiences of Busan with works by the Coen Brothers, Amat Escalante and Santiago Loza among scores of others.
