Program Note
Ho-sang encounters a car accident while traveling and his wife falls into coma. Upset over injury, he finds out the name of a man from her book, Sundays August, when goes mountain villa, the destination of their trip. The owner of second-hand book shop, So-kook tries to find the book for an order of Shi-nae, the doctor of Ho-sang′s wife, only fail. To the end, we cannot tell what this book Sundays in August like. This book only makes circle of subtle ties wandering among the memories, curiosities and desires the characters. The film Sundays in August does not let any desire or memory escape from fundamental ambiguity. Protagonists are driven the slight ties, but stay the limitation of which they cannot be convinced. This is a digital work which explores the uncertainty human relationships and the unstable boundary between memory and reality, life and death.

Jinwoo Lee
Born in 1971, Lee Jin-woo directed several shorts, [I Love You](1998), [Pig Dream](1999), [GOD](2001), [Simple Passion](2003), and Narrower than Skin(2004), which were introduced to many film festivals. [GOD] was invited to the Hong Kong International Film Festival and Rotterdam Film Festival, and [Simple Passion] won the Kodak Award at the Pusan Asian Short Film Festival. [Sundays in August] is his first feature film.
