Program Note
Stefanos, a 45-year-old aircraft engineer, has just lost his mother. Cherished memories of the old days flood in between the tears and regret: horsing around with old schoolmates, his crazy aunt′s escapades, and even the time he lost his first tooth. His mother told him that if he threw it on the roof, a crow would bring him a ring. An impatient boy, he just stole one from his aunt′s jewelry box instead. That was the ring he had promised to his cousin, Marina. When they were children, everyone thought Stefanos and Marina′s crush was cute, but as teenagers, fate pulls them apart. Stefanos is destined for London to pursue his studies; Marina has become involved with his friend Manolis. Though they must go their separate ways, their bond will stretch over time and distance. Now, some 30 years later, they are to meet again at the funeral. Memories are not all they will have to share.
