Program Note
It′s a hazy morning with pigeons all around. A psychiatrist begins convalescence in therapy with his patients. A young girl subjected to constant sexual abuse, a woman troubled with suicidal tendencies, a boy wanting to kill his parents... the film discloses their sufferings as it displays a polished urban sensibility. One is left to wonder the truths of scenes accompanying the therapy. Yet that question isn′t crucial. Either way, there are no changes in their condition, as the doctor is incompetent and the worst that can happen is the mental breakdown of those restless souls. In the loud music and chaotic scenery we witness the pale image of a shrieking cityscape, with people piled up like trash on the underpass. Another morning greets this diseased city; just as the day before, it′s hazy and pigeons are flying all over. (Kwon Yong-Min)
