Yeo‘s captivating expressions remind us of Roland Barthes as they‘re evident in both his novel and in his film, with phrases like ＂I‘m in pain with her,＂ for instance. These expressions are all absorbed within the man‘s monologues; the film unfolds from his first-person narration and from his point of view. A single subject and an object, or existence and absence... It‘s interesting to note the things that are repeatedly presented, accompanied by a piano solo, leading to a kind of minimalism of expression. The fact that two people carry out the entire film within a single space also draws viewer‘s attention. The end result of all this is like a visual essay written in pitch-black ink while sitting at an antique table.
