Program Note
Pierre ANTOINE, a teenager, lives in a small town on the French-Swiss border. Buried in the land of the region, turns the LHC, the most powerful particle accelerator in the world. When he falls in love for the first time, Pierre-Antoine sees his daily life change, and one of his classmates disappears mysteriously. With great poetry, Blaise HARRISON evokes the passage to adulthood of four friends, in the snowy landscapes of the country of Gex which is also that of his own adolescence.
The scientific base where the particles are studied really exists, which gives this landscape of small roads and subdivisions, apparently banal, a very obscure strangeness. By mixing the teen movie and the scientific elements such as the origin of the matter and the theory of big Bang, this filmmaker previously directed documentary leads to a very original fantasy, hypnotic images sometimes close to David LYNCH.
