This is all about dreams. Everyone wishes for happiness and has a new dream with which to greet the New Year. Will these dreams come true every time? In [Do Over], director Cheng Yu-Chieh tries to l us that human beings will keep dreaming even though dreams are often never realized. This film describes each incident in the single day of five characters. Those incidents, however, are closely connected to one another. And all of them occur because everyone wishes for positive changes for the New Year. The assistant director Pang cherishes his unrequited love, Dang-An wants to bring his family to Taiwan after he acquires citizenship, Lixiang tries to be a good director overcoming his past, the Boss seeks consolation in helping his brother out of a dark world full of distrust, and Rat dreams of the whole new world entirely. Their dreams, however, come true only in their fantasies, but their short-term happiness is likely to touch the audience emotionally and perhaps prompt happy dreams in it. (Kim Ji-seok)
