In a small fishing village in Morocco on the Atlantic Ocean lives a young fisherman by the name of Fettah. He befriends the many European windsurfers who visit this island every summer, and eventually becomes a windsurfer himself. He longs to be like them and a feeling of emptiness flows through him as he watches them leave at the end of every summer. Then, one day, he falls for one of his windsurfing friend’s beautiful companions, which becomes a turning point for him. Atlantic is filled with images of the astoundingly vast ocean before us, as this one Moroccan man decides to take a risk and embark on a breathtaking adventure in search of the beautiful woman who symbolizes a new life on the Old Continent beyond the ocean. What used to be a ground of exploration in the history of Morocco-European relations, the Atlantic Ocean in this film is the personal grounds for adventure for Fettah, who desperately searches for an escape from his loneliness and a sense of freedom he has never had.
