Asian Cinema Fund 2019 Call for Submissions
Asian Cinema Fund (ACF) of Busan International Film Festival calls for submissions for its Post-Production Fund and Asian Network of Documentary (AND) Fund. The submission process can be initiated online at http://acf.biff.kr from April 1 to 20, 2019.
Asian Cinema Fund continues to play an essential role in Asian cinema by discovering talented independent filmmakers and expanding the diversity of independent films in Korea and Asia. Last year’s recipients have also shown great achievements in major film festivals around the world. Post-Production Fund recipient Maggie by director Yi Okseop was invited to the Bright Future Competition section in International Film Festival of Rotterdam 2019, Sub-Zero Wind by director Kim Yu-ri won the Jury Prize at the Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema 2019, House of Hummingbird by director Kim Bora won the Grand Prix of the Generation 14plus International Jury for the Best Film at the Berlinale 2019, and Nakorn-Sawan by director Puangsoi Aksornsawang won the Observation Missions for Asian Cinema Award at the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival 2018. Also, AND BIFF Mecenat Fund recipient Last Night I Saw You Smiling by director Kavich Neang won the NETPAC Award at International Film Festival Rotterdam 2019 and Kabul, City of the Wind by director Aboozar Amini was presented as the opening film and won the Special Jury Award for First Appearance at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam 2018.
